2022 – a clean slate

Hello stranger.

You may remember me from 2018.

Ah those were the days weren’t they? Words like Furlough and phrases like Lateral Flow were alien to us, we didn’t even have a ‘rule of six’.

Well in those heady pre-Covid days, I would regularly write on this blog: I would interview some really interesting people, read and review some great books, attend some amazing events, and even work with some brands to promote their great products.

Why did I stop writing?

Well, life got in the way, and then Covid happened. It led to my day job being even busier than normal, my family absolutely needing to be the priority, and me stepping away from hobbies like writing.

In the period since 2018, I have often thought back to those times, especially as I reflect on what I want to do in 2022, and I have come to the conclusion that I really miss regularly writing.

So to welcome the new year in – on this 1st of January, and whilst I am on day four of having Covid (feeling tired, but hopefully on the mend) – I am making my first blog post in around 2.5 years.

Sure, I don’t have much to say, but it’s more a ‘hi’ and a welcome to any new readers.

I’m a 40 year old guy with three wonderful kids, a patient wife, and a loving (crazy) pooch.

I have quite a lot of content planned for this year, and of course I’d love to welcome some guest bloggers and brands, so hit me up if that’s your thing.

But for now, I will wish you a happy and healthy new year.

Happy new year 2022

  1. It’s funny, but reading your post reminded me how it was the financial crash in the late 2000’s that stopped me writing for a few years for much the same reasons as you describe. But like you, I came back to it in the end because writing is ultimately a part of who I am. Wishing you all the best for 2022!
